This dataset includes over 40 thousands liquor licenses issued by the Licensing Division of Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC).
ILCC ensures that licensees comply with the provisions of the Illinois Liquor Control Act of 1934 and its Rules and Regulations.
Each licensee is registered with license number, corporate name, business name, corporation location, premise location, license type, license issue, effective and expiration date, etc.

Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) issues approximately 28,000 state liquor licenses each year of varying classifications for the three tiers of the liquor industry,
following the criteria defined in Illinois Liquor Control Act, including ownership information, local licensing, tax status and sales tax history.
The Licensing Division is responsible for reviewing state liquor applications and issuing more than 200 new and 2,000 renewal state liquor licenses every month.
There are 39 different license categories - including airplanes, trains, liquor stores, non-beverage users, out-of-state distributors, special events, non-resident dealers, national and foreign licensing, and brand registration.
This dataset includes current and previous liquor licenses in Illinois.
The registered information for each licensee includes license number, corporation name, corporation address, doing business as name, business location, license type, license issue, effective, and expiration date, business type, local license, etc.
The Illinois General Assembly unanimously passed PA 98-0627 in 2014, a bill introduced by the Governor's Office and intended to increase transparency, accountability and savings in government by establishing a new State Open Operating Standard.

3I - NR DEALER < 500,000 (7.05%), 3U - WS NOT TO EXCEED 250,000 (5.47%), 1B - CATERER (1.13%), 2G - NOT TO EXCEED 4,500,000 (0.90%), 2B - IMPORTING DISTRIBUTOR (0.88%), and 3C - BREWER (0.59%).
While the vast majority of licensees are located in Illinois (86.48%), there are also a number of licensees in California (7.32%), Oregon (0.92%), New York (0.70%), Washington (0.69%), and Florida (0.38%).
The most popular cities of licensees are Chicago (16.15%), Springfield (1.36%), Napa (1.14%), Rockford (1.09%), Peoria (0.91%), Naperville (0.81%), Champaign (0.75%), and Joliet (0.75%).
The total number of licensed businesses noticeably increased in recent years.
