The number of businesses has grown steadily year over year, with a noticeably sharp increase in recent years. In 2019, the business growth (7%) slowed comparing with previous years, which is largely due to the pandemic.
However, the number of businesses grow very quickly in 2020 (26%) and 2021 (40%), largely attributed to new market opportunities created by the pandemic.
We expect to see more businesses registered in North Carolina in the coming years.
