franchise tax permit holders, cigarette and tobacco retailer, non-retailer and manufacturer permit holders, tax-exempt entities, international fuel tax agreement taxpayers,
direct pay permit holders, maquiladora-export permit holders, agriculture and timber exemptoin registrations, coin-operated amusement machine taxpayers, interstate truckers,
as well as taxpayer returns and beverage gross receipts. The information for each taxpayer includes taxpayer number, business name, outlet name, outlet address, mailing address, permit issue date, first sales date, etc.

While the majority of taxpayers are located in the state of Texas (91.29%), there are also a number of taxpayers located in
California (1.19%), Florida (0.63%), New York (0.56%), Oklahoma (0.41%), Illinois (0.39%), Colorado (0.34%), Georgia (0.31%), Louisiana (0.29%), and New Jersey (0.25%).
The most popular city of all taxpayers is Houston (10.56%). The other major cities include
Austin (8.47%), Dallas (6.62%), San Antonio (3.97%), Fort Worth (2.25%), Frisco (1.66%), El Paso (1.31%), Plano (1.27%), Katy (1.12%), Spring (0.99%), and Arlington (0.96%).
The total number of taxpayers have a noticeable increase in recent years. In 2019, the number has a sharp increase of 82%. However, the number dropped by 20% in 2020, and recovered by 14% in 2021.
This was largely due to the effects of the pandemic.
We expect to see more tax permit holders being registered in the upcoming years.
